Elijah and Lydia

On wednesday February 25th, we were happy to welcome our new house parents to the Living Love Family. They were an answer to our prayers, they will also serve as the site managers.

Elijah and Lydia are a young dynamic couple and have two young children Jesse (5) and Njeri (3).

They bring a wealth of experience working as youth pastors and worship leaders in their former church.

Elijah previously worked as a house father in a children’s home while Lydia was a caterer, just what we needed.

We pray that their combined leadership skills and abilities will take Living Love Ministries to the next level. Please pray for Gods wisdom as they take over LLM on-site leadership and the spiritual health of our children.

In February, we received four new children who are all siblings. Peter (12), Joseph (10), Harun (8) and Jane (6) who were brought to Living Love by the children’s officer while their mother is serving a two year jail term for child neglect.  They appear to be happy and content children, but heir story is heart breaking and easily draws tears.

As of January 1, 2016 we have a new online giving partner named Mogiv, which stands for Mobile Giving.

It is much easier to give any amount or to set up your monthly support payments using a credit or debit card.

That will take you to the “Give Now” page, which explains why to give and also explains the process in the “How do we give” section.

Click on the “Donate Now” blue button.

That will link you to the Mogiv page.

2. Select a dollar amount of your gift
3. Under the Repeat drop down menu select if it will be recurring or one time
4. Enter the payment information

We also added a giving button to our Facebook page for your convenience, just click on the “Give Now” button in the menu below the main photo.

The new school year started in the beginning of January, and all of the children are going to a new christian school.

Thanks to sponsors like you, we were able to enroll the children of Living Love in Hezta Christian School in Ol Kalou, Kenya.

The kids are so excited and really love their new school which has better academic performance as well as better facilities and delicious food.

The bus pictured above comes directly to the home, so the children no longer have to walk the half mile to the main road to get on the school bus.

The school motto is “Learn to Shine” and we believe the children will shine the light of Jesus as they represent Living Love Ministries children’s home.

As we prepare for 2016, we wanted to make the time to thank you for your support these past five years! Without your help, Living Love Ministries wouldn’t have been able to care for these vulnerable children in Kenya.

Because of your help we were able to complete “Upendo Cottage” in 2015, which allows us to be able to welcome twenty additional children into our family. As we prepare to begin this new chapter in HIStory, we ask you to keep the Living Love children and leadership in your prayers. We are expanding, and each new employee and child creates new challenges. Pray for wisdom and direction from our Wonderful Counselor, as we care for these deserving children. Help us to spread the good news of how the children are thriving, so that we will be able to find additional partners to support our growing family.

While widows weep, as they do now, We will fight!
While little children go hungry, as they do now, We will fight!
While there remains one dark soul without the light of God, We will fight!

We carry the light of the world inside of us, when looking for a beacon of hope, we need to remember that we are those beacons. Jesus told us that we are the light of the world. The world will find hope through us, through the spirit of God that lives within us.

LLM Five Year Anniversary

We want to take the time to thank all of you for your prayers, love, and support over the past five years. During our upcoming mission trip we will be celebrating our five year anniversary of our Children’s Home in Ol Kalou, Kenya. While we are there we will also be having a ribbon cutting ceremony for Upendo cottage, which is serving as our girls dormitory.  We couldn’t help these vulnerable children without your support!

In Isaiah 1:17 it says “Learn to do right: seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” and in James 1:27 it reads “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” These verses exemplify what we are trying to do through our ministry, it shows “Do Something” faith. We are a “boots on the ground” ministry working together to care for the vulnerable children and widows in Kenya. In addition to the children living on our property, we also have partnered with local families to help feed the needy children, pay for school fees, as well as provide much needed medical care. All of what we do is Bible based and done out of love, to glorify our Lord and Savior. Please consider spreading the word to like minded individuals in your network, as we prepare to welcome twenty more needy children into our care.

We would also like to thank “The Sew Creative Group” from Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook, PA for taking the time to lovingly create the “Snappy Bags” pictured above for each of the children of Living Love. We are putting together gift bags for each of the childrens’ Christmas gifts, and these are a wonderful addition to the quilts donated by Good’s Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown, PA. The sponsors are each writing letters that we will be hand delivering to the children in a “String Bag” backpack with the Living Love Logo printed on the front which will include school supplies, clothing and hygiene items.

Greetings dear friends, we greet you in Jesus name and hope this note finds you well as we wind down from summer and start the school year here in the US.

We are planning a mission trip to dedicate the new cottage and celebrate our 5th year anniversary at our Ol Kalou location, the team is leaving November 28, 2015 and returning December 6, 2015.

We will be collecting letters from the sponsors to hand deliver to each of the children of Living Love as well as accepting funds to fill a LLM string bag with gifts for everyone living and working for the Ministry. Fern Mohler will be sending out letters to each of the Sponsor families explaining in more detail what we are planning on including as gifts for each of the children and where to send the letters so we get everything together before the trip to Kenya.

Help us spread the word to other like minded individuals, as we need to find new sponsors to help us support the new children joining the LLM family. The children are quite exited and can’t wait to move into their new home!

We are currently interviewing couples for the new “House Parents” position needed for supervision in Upendo cottage. Please join us in prayer for a couple with a calling of ministry for children and that are skilled at working with troubled and traumatized children.
