Together We Can Be The Change

Save the Date for this years “Friends of LLM Banquet” which will be held on Friday evening November 17th, 2017 at the Shady Maple Banquet Center in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.

We are looking forward to getting together again this year to celebrate the thriving Living Love Community that is only possible because of donors like you!

Our Capital Campaign for this years Banquet will be to raise funds to build a Multi-Purpose Dining Hall/Common Building for the children and staff to all gather together for meals, meetings, doing homework etc. We have enough bricks from the original production run, so this should be achievable with the donations at this years banquet.

New Sign Installed

The staff and children worked together to install a new sign on the main road turn off to our Children’s Home.

Now it will be easier for the Officials, Medical Personnel and Counselors to find our location.

As a bonus it will be easier to get deliveries and visitors that are not familiar with the area.

Thank you for being an integral member of the LLM Community in Ol Kalou, Kenya!

Our New “Summer” Kitchen

Thank you for helping us build the new “summer” kitchen which will house the commercial cooking stoves and ovens. This will allow us to move them from their temporary location on the front porch, and consolidate all cooking to one convenient location. The children jumped right in to help with the painting, cleaning and finishing touches.

Thank you to everyone who made this project possible!!

Back To School

JoyceSchool

As the children in the USA head back to school, the children in Kenya who had off for the month of August, headed back for their third semester at the new Christian school they began in January.

Our team toured the school at the end of July, and were very impressed with the new school! Here are some photographs from their visit…

Please continue to pray for the children in Kenya as they continue their school year, and for the school leadership and staff of Living Love Ministries, as they teach and set Godly examples for the children as they learn and grow into accomplished adults…

Don’t forget about our “Friends of Living Love Ministries” Banquet coming up on Friday, November 18th at Shady Maple Smorgasbords’ Banquet Hall. We are hoping to have Solomon at this years banquet to share about all of the changes initiated by our new House Parents Elijah and Lydia!

Thank You for your continued support, and consider sharing our mission with likeminded friends and family as we struggle to find donors for the new children as they arrive in Ol Kalou by the Children’s Protective Services Department of the Kenyan government.

If you are interested in sponsoring a table, or if you can just help spread the word by inviting your friends to this free meal to learn more about how we are “Pouring out God’s love on the vulnerable children” in Kenya, we would be most grateful!

Stay tuned to your mailbox and email for an update and your special Invitation…

Feel free to email us at info@LivingLoveMinistries.org if you have any questions.

Many Blessings, from Living Love Ministries

Special Thank You

GirlScouts-20

A Special Thank You to the Brownies from Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, Coventry Service Unit Troop #41654 and the Tel Hai “Sew Creative Group” for teaming up to create Drawstring Bags for all of the children of Living Love Ministries. The “Sew Creative Group” women mentored the young girls, and taught them how to layout the fabric, and cut out the patterns, sew them together on sewing machines and attach the drawstring to close the bags.

In addition to the Drawstring Bags, the Brownies also collected all of the much needed and appreciated items to fill the bags, like lip balm, sunglasses, colored pencils and colorful socks! A team from the USA will be hand delivering the packages later this year!

Below are some photos from their time together…

Again thank you to all of you, for working together to help the vulnerable children in Kenya, together we are making a world of difference for these special children!

Joseph Needed Surgery

We have some important news to share about one of our newest children.

Joseph underwent surgery last week to remove steel bracing that doctors had put on his thigh bone to correct a fracture 5 years ago, and was never removed within a year of the surgery as it was supposed to.

Joseph could not bend his knee since he came to Living Love, as the wounds on his right leg had prompted us to take him to the hospital. The doctor said he would have lost his leg, as the bones had become septic if he wouldn’t have received medical treatment.

Praise the Lord, Joseph is recovering well and is now walking without help and will be discharged this week.

If you feel led to sponsor Joseph or his siblings, or would like to donate a one-time gift towards his surgery, all you have to do is click on the “Give Now” button in the upper right corner of this web page.

We will share updates about Joseph as they become available…

Thank You for your prayers  and support of the vulnerable children in Kenya!

Quilts

During our Mission trip in December, we took much needed supplies as well as educational programming and delivered graciously donated materials such as school supplies, crayons, warm winter hats, sunglasses, balloons and “Snappy Bags” which were hand-sewn by Tel Hai’s Sew Creative group. Each child received this one-of-a-kind bag to house all their new goodies. The children were so grateful as you can see by the huge smiles on their faces.

We have been blessed with many donations as we prepared for our mission trip to Kenya. We would like to give special thanks to “The Labs Funeral Home” in Honey Brook, PA, Good’s Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown,PA who made the quilts. Dr. Yooson Kim in Morgantown who donated 48 toothbrushes, and SocksinStock.com for donating 60 pairs of knee socks for all of the children of LLM, along with many other friends of the ministry who have given donations which we  hand delivered the first week in December 2015.
